Email aliases let admins link a receive-only address to a sendable support address, so that when a customer emails an unrecognized email address, Reply still pre-selects the correct support address as the From address. This is useful for organizations that manage multiple brand-facing addresses — for example, a corporate relay address that receives mail forwarded from several brand domains. This article covers who can set up email aliases and what the feature does and doesn't support.

### What email aliases support

Email aliases close a specific recognition gap in Reply. They don't change what reps can send from, and they don't affect how mail gets delivered to Kustomer.

* Aliases are receive-only. Adding an alias doesn't make Kustomer accept mail for that domain — your mail server still needs to forward or catch-all that mail into a known Kustomer mailbox.
* Aliases never appear in the From picker. Reps can only send from sendable support addresses (roots); an alias only affects which root gets pre-selected on Reply.
* Each support address supports up to 50 aliases.
* Aliases are available on Amazon SES, Gmail, and Postmark support addresses. Amazon SES parent-domain rows — rows without a specific email prefix — don't support aliases.
* Aliases are separate from the _Use agent display name_ setting. Display name controls the name shown on an outgoing email, not which address is pre-selected.
* Matching only applies to Reply, and only checks the inbound To address. It doesn't apply to new outbound messages, Forward, or CC.
* If an alias and a Brand Address mapping could both apply to a conversation, the alias match takes precedence.
