### How does Outlook work with Kustomer?

Once the add-in is installed, you'll see the Kustomer option in your Outlook message actions menu.

Clicking this will instantly send the email to Kustomer. If the email is from an existing customer, the message is added to their existing timeline. If it’s from a new contact, Kustomer automatically creates a new customer profile and starts a new timeline.

### Install the Outlook app

To integrate Outlook with Kustomer, install the Outlook app from within the Kustomer App Directory.

1. Go to **Apps,** search for **Outlook**, and then select **Install**.
2. Select **Install App** to grant the necessary permissions to run the app.

### Install the Outlook add-In

To start using the Outlook integration, you’ll need to install the add-in manually using a manifest file. We don’t currently offer a public listing on the Microsoft Store, so setup happens through your Microsoft Outlook settings.

1. Download the manifest file from [this link](https://cdnapps.kustomerapp.com/outlook/cards/kustomer_outlook/latest/manifest.xml).
2. Open Microsoft Outlook (web or desktop, depending on your organization’s setup).
3. Go to **Settings** > **View all Outlook settings**.
4. Navigate to **Mail** > **Customize actions** (or **Add-ins**, depending on your setup).
5. Click **Manage add-ins** or **\+ Add a custom add-in**.
6. Select **Add from file** or **Add from URL** and upload or paste the link to the manifest file.
7. Confirm the installation and restart Outlook if prompted.

**Note:** The exact steps may vary depending on your Microsoft configuration (for example, Exchange admin settings or cloud vs. on-premise accounts). If you don’t see the options listed above, contact your IT administrator for assistance.
