# Access your audit logs

The audit log tracks changes in the Kustomer platform done by users and system automations. You can access an audit log for a specific customer, conversation, or for the workspace as a whole. **Who can access this feature?**

**User types**

Admins can access full audit log features. Agents can access Customer and Conversation logs.

### View a specific customer's audit log

Accessing the audit log from the customer will show all events that have occurred on that specific customer.

**To view the audit log for a specific customer:**

1.  Navigate to their timeline.
2.  Select **Customer Options**![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/e8e99850f6e178f8b416ea13d42e7312.png)and then select **View Audit Log**. You may need to scroll to see the **View Audit Log** selection.

### View a conversation's audit log

Accessing the audit log from a conversation will show all events that have occurred on that specific conversation and includes CSAT events such as, how a survey was answered.

**To view the audit log for a specific conversation:**

1.  Navigate to the conversation.

### View the workspace audit log

Accessing the audit log for your workspace allows you to view and search events across all customer and conversations objects, as well as any changes that were made to your search, Shortcut settings, or business rules.To view your workspace audit log, go to **Settings ![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/04936fee74fbbd5b734d417a5c48b5f8.png)** **\> Security** **\> Audit Log**.

### Filter the audit log

You can view audit log results for a desired date range, or filter them by event type.

**To filter the audit log:**

1.  Select **Filter ![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/22d194b5247ee8d3c88b4f855066ffce.png)** .
2.  Select the Event Type from the drop-down menu. Your options are:
    *   All Events
    *   Authorization
    *   Billing
    *   Conversation
    *   Customer
    *   Settings
    *   Work Session
3.  Next, select the specific criteria you are filtering on. Available options depend on the Event Type you selected in Step 1.

    The user in your organization. Results will display all actions done by them.
    
    Authorization
    
    User
    
    The user that performed that authorization.
    
    Billing

    The user makes changes to the Manage Payment or Manage Subscription page.

    Conversation
    
    The ID of the conversation. Optionally, you can select a specific user.
    
    Customer
    
    Customer
    
    The name of the customer. Optionally, you can select a specific user.
    
    Settings
    
    Section
    
    The platform area you want to filter on. Available options are Searches, Shortcuts, Business Rules, or Kustomer Access. Optionally, you can select a different user.
    
    Work Session
    
    User
    
    The user's history when using queues and routing.
    
4.  Select **Apply Filters**.

### **Common audit log entries**

**Entry**

**Meaning**

User Ended

The end customer (not an agent) closed the chat conversation.

Reopened by Workflow

A workflow changed the conversation status from "done" to "open." For WhatsApp conversations, this entry appears on all new conversations and is expected behavior.

Updated by \[API key name\]

An integration or webhook updated the record using the named API key.

Updated by \[workflow name\]

A workflow automatically modified the conversation or customer record.

To trace the source of a customer profile change, check the audit log for the API key name or workflow name in the "Updated by" field. Different API key names correspond to different integrations configured in your workspace.
